Linocut Reduction- Ink on Paper | 28th January 2021 | 12 x 18 inches | Edition of 8
This is one of two prints reminiscing on the trainlines of Trinidad decommissioned in the post-colonial period after the nation attained independence. It was created and shown as part of an exhibition looking at the history of the country and how in contemporary retrospection, creative and often false narratives are created around the people and institutions of our past.
This work is part of an ongoing series of prints where I take imagery gleaned from my subconscious during dreaming and strive to contexualise and formulate a cohesive artwork that captures the essence of the dream but also speaks to the realities experienced during consciousness.
